In A Low Voice...

It is necessary to think about the not-so-bright clouds gathering and condensing over the Middle East. I myself try to think about this, yet I cannot get the feeling that it is a sight for sore eyes neither for Turkish Nation nor for the Turkish World.
In order to fight against the crises that they may have in their future, those who fall for a “democracy” narcosis and those imperialist forces planning to be closely involved with using the resources of this region cannot be disregarded at all. Turkey, for instance, does not even touch the matter and the reality of the “Turkish World”, let alone granting it a prior rank. And, that climate created by those imperial forces has been making a progress on labelling the “Turkish Nation” and the “Turkish World” concepts rather unfavourable.
From now on, the term “Turkish world” has been dragged to a point where it should sometimes be low-voiced and uttered in formal contexts. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the whole Turkish people and the Turkish world used to hear a strong-voiced and frequent utterance of Turgut Ozal, which was “the twenty-first century will be the Turks’ Century...” We, later on, got used to hearing similar utterances from Suleyman Demirel. Additionally, it is not so difficult for us to see when those who have the ability to criticise these two leaders from different aspects give their dues on this matter.
Now, we are facing with and being made to adapt for a climate which claims that it could be “dangerous” to include the term “Turk” in our Constitution. In the periods I have mentioned, even the President of the USA, Clinton, was able to use expressions on the future of Turkey and the Turkish world similar to what Ozal and Demirel once said.
Word has it that it would be possible to come to a solution when the term “Turk” could be replaced by “Turkish citizen”. Well...are we going to have such an oddity as “Turkish citizens’ world” when indeed we mean to say the “Turkish world”? Judging from the run of events, it is not beyond the possibility for those who are able (dare) to say the “Turkish world” have a much lower tone of voice.
The souls have no other ways than that of getting it together, recovering self and consciousness. continue...

TURKSAV- TURKISH WORLD SERVICE AWARDS

Turksav has started to give “Turkish World Service Awards” since its establishment and still perpetuating its events from then on.
The reason behind these awards is to remember and remind the works contributing to the youth of the Turkish world in the domain of science, policy, economy, culture and art.
Files containing the information of persons, foundations and/or organisations are processed and presented to the board of directors by the relevant commissions. Then, the board takes these assessments into consideration and decides on the nominees by debating over them.
Award ceremonies which took place annually at the Çankaya Presidency Palace, during the presidency of Suleyman Demirel, were staged at different places later on. The hosts for the ceremonies held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in 2011 and in Azerbaijan in 2012 were Union of Foreign Press, in Nicosia, and Embassy of Turkey in Baku, Baku.  The ceremony of the 12th Turkish World Service Awards which is planned to take place in Skopje is to be hosted by Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
It can be seen that, for the majority of the Turkish World Service Awards,  right choices have greatly been made, while few of them being exceptionally wrong.
Some of the Turkish World Service Awards having been presented so far are as follows:
